Stand Tall at the Border
July 16, 2018 - July 17, 2018
VETERAN SERVICE CORPS NEEDS YOUR HELP TO
STAND TALL AT THE BORDER
We are the veterans who stood tall with The Water Protectors at Standing Rock.
Now we need your help to stand tall at the border
At the request of other organizations, we sent a forward team to the U.S. southern border to evaluate the American indigenous refugee crisis.
Our team can confirm the following:
AMERICAN INDIGENOUS REFUGEES
-
American Indigenous refugees are being unlawfully turned back at the US border;
-
Refugees without identifying paperwork are being arrested and detained for illegal entry into the United States with no due process; All Persons, not just US Citizens, are afforded Due Process under the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution.
-
Families are still being divided by children being separated from their parents;
-
Parents of separated children are being charged by the government for airfare to return their children and round-trip airfare for the escort accompanying the children at rate of $2500 and higher; https://nyti.ms/2KpQKW6
-
Camps are being erected to house upwards of 40,000 refugees in tents on U.S. military bases. These tents are designed to house prisoners, not children and families; https://n.pr/2MunVnY
AMERICAN MILITARY AND VETERANS
-
American veterans with HONORABLE discharges are being deported; https://nydn.us/2L9P8vU
-
Soldiers who volunteered for service under the promise of a path to permanent resident status and naturalization are being administratively discharged and deported. https://bit.ly/2zefew4
-
There are at least 40 veterans now living in a safe house just over the border; Similar safe houses exist throughout the border region; https://bit.ly/2utylgm
HOW CAN YOU HELP US STAND TALL AT THE BORDER?
VSC’s ability to respond to the border crisis and deportation of veterans is dependent upon public support. Your contribution will help us peacefully
– HELP US STAND TALL AT EVERY BORDER CROSSING!
– provide observers at the border crossings;
– provide escorts for refugees from the border RIGHT UP TO the customs agent and observe their processing;
– ASSIST LOCAL ORGANIZATION PROVIDE SERVICES TO REFUGEES;
– OVERSIGHT OF REFUGEE CAMPS ON MILIATARY BASES;
– CONTACT OUR DEPORTED VETERANS AND BRING THEM BACK HOME!
After Standing Rock, we formed Veteran Service Corps to continue promoting peace through service. We are a volunteer driven non-profit, 501(c)(3) NGO that provides humanitarian observation and support in furtherance of human and civil rights.
VSC needs to raise $2000 in the next 72 hours! Our advanced team is at a critical point in developing a sustained response to the crisis. We need your help to keep the team at the border so they can continue working in support of American indigenous refugees.
